As Of Counsel, Bill brings to Fuksa Khorshid, LLC almost 30 years’ experience in complex civil and criminal litigation, including class action prosecution and defense, as well as in-house experience as a business lawyer and entrepreneur.  Additionally, over a decade of public service in local government gives Bill a practical perspective for our clients in seeking resolutions in difficult situations with many competing interests. 

AREAS OF EXPERIENCE

Bill has practiced before a wide range of federal and state courts, handling matters through trial and on appeal.  Bill has also litigated complex matters that progressed from discovery, through trial and to enforceable judgment by arbitration.  His experience covers diverse substantive areas and involves issues concerning the investigation, preparation, discovery (factual and expert), trial, post-trial and appellate stages of litigation.  Bill’s substantive experience includes:   complex commercial disputes; intellectual property disputes; insurance coverage litigation; consumer class action litigation; products liability and tort matters; fraud and RICO litigation; air crash litigation; legal malpractice, attorney ethics and practice counseling and disputes; trusts and estates litigation; and labor and employment litigation.  

PRO BONO PRACTICE

Pro bono work also has been important to Bill, and he believes in the pro bono obligation all members of the bar owe to the indigent.  He has handled pro bono matters as diverse as first-degree murder and bank robbery defense, LGBTQ rights, divorce and child custody, prisoner’s rights, and immigration / asylum.  

BUSINESS AND IN-HOUSE EXPERIENCE 

Prior to joining the firm, Bill founded and led the legal function of an eCommerce company designed to disrupt traditional retail supply chains and provide women improved access to designer fashion and business attire (www.designershare.com).  He prides himself in seeing legal problems from a business and client perspective.

In his time away from the office, Bill has an in-depth interest in politics and sits on a charitable board supporting science education in the Chicago Public Schools.
