Lucas Fuksa is a founding partner of Fuksa Khorshid, LLC. He focuses his practice on real-estate development, financial transactions, business and corporate matters, and mechanics lien and construction litigation.

Lucas regularly assists some of Chicago’s busiest developers and investors in their acquisition and development of real estate assets, including multi-use developments, condominiums, retail spaces, hotels, and single-family homes.

Lucas is skilled in negotiating and preparing transactions involving the purchase and sale of financial instruments including real-estate-backed banknotes, and creatively structures the acquisition and financing of real-estate developments. Lucas has also litigated many mechanics-lien and construction-related cases, including those involving Block 37, the Blackstone Hotel, and Rush University Hospital.

Aside from being an attorney, Lucas formed and manages a private real estate investment fund aimed at developing new construction and adaptive reuse projects in the Chicago area and surrounding suburbs. One of his more interesting projects includes the redevelopment of an old, landlmarked bank building located at 1425 W. Fullerton Ave. Chicago, IL.

Lucas graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law. He began his legal career with the firm of Pricewaterhouse Coopers, LLC. In 2006, Lucas and his partner started Fuksa Khorshid, LLC. Lucas is also fluent in both Polish and Spanish.

Lucas previously served as president of the Polish American Chamber of
Commerce and maintains involvement in the Polish community. Additionally, he is a member of the Real Estate Investment Association, River North Business Association, the Chicago Real Estate Council, the Association of Subcontractors and Affiliates, and the Chicago Association of Realtors.

Lucas lives in Park Ridge with his beautiful wife, Daniela, his three daughters, Penelope, Bianca, and Adriana, son, Leo, and chocolate lab,  Winnie. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, golfing, reading, and drinking bourbon and wine.
